Rhinoplasty Newport Beach
Nose surgery, Nasal Reshaping or Rhinoplasty, is one of the most popular procedures done in the United States because of the dramatic results it can have not only on a person’s appearance but also on his or her self-esteem. A person’s nose is often the most prominent feature on his/her face and rhinoplasty at The Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery by Dr. Sanjay Grover is used to create a more balanced, proportionate and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Dr Grover may remove or resculpt nasal tissues in order to reduce the size of the nose or create a more desirable shape. Results will vary from patient to patient and will depend upon what concerns are addressed with the rhinoplasty procedure. Dr Grover is board-certified plastic surgeon with a high standard of excellence, and with surgery he is able to:
- Balance the proportion of the nose with other facial features
- Diminish an overly wide or large nose
- Reduce a nose with too large an arch
- Correct a crooked or elongated nose tip.
- Repair the nasal passages to correct breathing problems
A rhinoplasty with Dr. Grover usually lasts approximately 3 hours and may be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the scope of the surgery. Gr. Grover prefers an “open” technique when performing surgery on the nose because it allows him better visualization of the surgical field. With the open technique the incision is placed in between the nostrils and provides maximum visibility and control. For Dr. Grover the goal of surgery is always to give his patients the best possible outcome and he feels that the open rhinoplasty technique best gives him this advantage.
At The Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery we make it a priority to support patients during recovery. Dr. Grover wants patients to feel informed and empowered about after care. It’s important to rest and take things slow after surgery. Following surgery, a splint, bandages, and/or gauze maybe utilized to speed the healing process and to minimize movement of the nose. Swelling may persist for 2-3 weeks, with at least a week needed before a return to work or normal activity. The nose must be protected with no strenuous activity for at least 3 weeks. Post surgical discomfort is usually not severe but may be experienced early in the healing process. Dr. Grover can prescribe appropriate pain medication to mange any discomfort. Smoking is not permitted in the weeks after nasal surgery and sun exposure must be limited for a year.
The best candidate for a rhinoplasty is one who desires improvement, but not perfection, with the overall appearance of his/her nose. Rhinoplasty patients often feel that their nose is too large or small, doesn’t fit with their face and/or is crooked or mis-aligned. Please contact our office and book a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Grover to see if you are a good candidate for rhinoplasty.
