Botox Works Well - Used in the right spots
Too much Botox or even a little in the wrong place can cause your eyebrows to droop.
As you know, there are muscles that work to lift the brow (the frontalis muscle in your forehead) and muscles that can pull down the brow (the orbicularis muscle around your eyes). They work in balance.
One can achieve a nice ‘chemical browlift’ by injecting appropriate amounts in the right spots.
However, if you have a tendancy towards too droopy of a brow or too much excess skin, Botox will not help and you would benefit from a blepharoplasty or browlift.

Botox and Juvederm used together create amazing results
Fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane are best to plump lips as they are fillers. Botox, on the other hand, effects the nerve impulses to muscles that create lines or wrinkles (dynamic rhytids). Having said this, I have on occasion injected Botox around the lips for “smoker’s lines” and patients have felt that it also helped them achieve a fuller lip by effecting the way the lip roll is.

Ask Doctor Grover - What is the appropriate amount of Botox?
Many patients benefit from Botox for treatment of dynamic wrinkles of the forehead, glabella (11’s), crow’s feet, and droopy brows. Fifty units of Botox is a very average amount to begin with. Some patients may require more on their second treatment.

Ask Doctor Grover - Will I get used to my butt implants?
Most of my buttock augmentation patients feel they are part of them. As with breast implants, patients tend to feel that implants are incorporated into their body and self image and do not think about them. Some of the buttock implants used now are softer than previously used. It also helps if you have a decent amount of padding or fatty tissue to cover the implants.

Methods for Buttock Augmentation
Two methods for buttock augmentation include:
1) Fat grafting using your own fat cells; and
2) Buttock augmentation using silicone implants
Patients with adequate donor fatty tissue elsewhere on the body may be a candidate for fat transfers. However, many patients who desire buttock augmentation do not have much excess fatty tissue and must rely on a silicone implant to achieve an augmented or fuller buttocks.

Ask Doctor Grover - Is Clitoral Hood Reduction the Same as Labiaplasty?
Clitoral hood reduction may be performed along with labiaplasty. Clitoral hood reduction is performed usually for cosmetic reasons to reduce the amount or appearance of tissue that cover the clitoris. Some feel that clitoral hood reduction may benefit one’s sexual experience.

Newport Beach Blepharoplasty - Cost Will Vary Depending on Technique Used
There are many different techniques available to perform blepharoplasty. More commonly, upper lid blepharoplasty is performed more similarly from surgeon to surgeon. Lower lid blepharoplasty, will vary tremendously.
Some surgeons will only perform a transconjunctival blepharoplasty through the inner lower lid to remove fat, some will only remove a ‘pinch’ of skin from the outer aspect with or without transconjunctival fat removal or redraping. Some will perform fat contouring and skin/muscle redraping with an incision just below the eyelashes.

Many options. Costs will vary.

Ask Doctor Grover - Eyelid Surgery Performed With Local Anesthesia
Eyelid surgery can be performed without general anesthesia. It is reasonable to undergo upper eyelid blepharoplasty under straight local anesthesia. One can also perform some types of lower lid blepharoplasty procedures under local anesthesia as well. For some more aggressive procedures, patients will benefit from some sort of sedation or general anesthesia.

Wearing Contact Lenses After Eyelid Surgery?
Many patients can wear contact lenses after 3 or 4 weeks following upper and lower blepharoplasty. Some patients, however, may have some dry eyes or chemosis following blepharoplasty and should wait until this seems to be resolved. Care should be taken if a canthopexy or canthoplasty of the lower eyelid was performed as this may disrupt or effect the result.

Ask Doctor Grover - Nipple Reduction Surgery in Newport Beach
Areolar reduction is a nice procedure for the right patient with the right type of breasts. Most breast reductions and breast lifts are performed along with an areolar reduction as part of the procedure. Areolar reduction, by itself, is requested on occasion, and does also produce a tightening and lifting effect to ones breasts.
An isolated areolar reduction can be performed under local anesthesia, IV sedation, or general anesthesia. It will take most surgeons between one or two hours. It is not appropriate for some patients and usually is best after childbearing is complete.
