Liposuction is a surgical technique that is used to contour, sculpt, and remove excess, unwanted fatty deposits from specific areas such as the abdomen, waist, flanks, bra roll, back, hips, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin and neck. It is also referred to as lipoplasty, liposculpture, and microliposuction. Liposuction is not a means for weight loss. Small incisions, usually 3 mm in length, are made in inconspicuous areas and the excess fat is removed with a hollow cannula. Many different techniques exist for liposuction such as tumescent liposuction and superwet liposuction. Different modalities used include traditional lipoplasty, power-assisted liposuction, or ultrasound assisted liposuction. Dr. Grover has had extensive experience with all of these techniques and prefers the Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) technique with the superwet and tumescent techniques.
Dr. Grover has utilized the power assisted liposuction technique since the year 2000. He has performed hundreds of procedures with this technique. Power assisted liposuction is a technique that utilizes a small cannula that is attached to a mechanical hand piece that causes the cannula to vibrate at hundreds of times per minute. This helps to loosen the fat cells and allow for easier, more efficient and less traumatic removal of the fatty tissues with less bruising and discomfort. Power assisted liposuction is performed in conjunction with the tumescent technique. This technique offers many advantages over older techniques such as suction-assisted liposuction (SAL) and ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL). Its benefits include more efficient removal of fatty deposits, especially from more fibrous areas such as the “love-handles” and chest and also from patients who have had previous liposuction and may have additional scar tissue.
Generally speaking, patients with localized areas of excess fatty deposits and have good skin tone and elasticity will have the best results.

“Women-like breasts” or male breast enlargement is estimated to affect 40 to 90 percent of teen age males and may cause men to feel very self-conscuious of their appearance. Many men affected by gynecomastia avoid situations where they are required to expose their chest. Most cases of gynecomastia spontaneously resolove before age 20. However, approximately 10% may persist through the adult years. Gynecomastia can affect one or both breasts. Gyencomastia may be due to excess glandular tissue or adipose (fatty) tissue.
Potential causes include a number of drugs including marijuana, anabolic steroids, and performance enhancing drugs. Other conditions such as obesity, tumors, liver disease and more may also cause gynecomastia.
Gynecomastia may be emotionally devastating to a teen or adult male. Many males with gynecomastia may suffer from feelings of embarrassment, humiliation, and shame. One may even suffer from significant anxiety from just taking off their shirt at the beach or pool.
If the gynecomastia is a cause of obesity, weight loss may improve the condition, but does not usually completely eliminate it.

What is a Breast Revision?
Generally speaking, a Breast Revision is any secondary breast procedure. It may involve correcting complications from a previous breast surgery or improving changes that have occurred over time or due to pregnancy and nursing. A breast revision may include removing and/or replacing the breast implant, removing excess scar tissue (capsulectomy), pocket exchange and/or breast lift (mastopexy). Breast implants may eventually fail (deflate or rupture) and patients may require one or more additionally procedures in their lifetime. Given that a Breast Revision is more difficult than a first time Breast Augmentation, it is very important to locate a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, such as Dr. Grover, who not only has significant experience but who specializes in this area.
What are common reasons for a Breast Revision?
There are many reasons that many women who have had breast surgery desire a Breast Revision. Dr. Grover attributes his meticulous nature as to why he has a very low breast revision rate.

Mastopexy, or a breast lift, is a surgical procedure to uplift and reshape a sagging, droopy, ptotic breast. Changes in a women’s breast over time can be a result from pregnancy, breast-feeding, weight loss, aging or heredity. In addition to a sagging, droopy look, the breast nipples will often point down loosing that youthful, natural appearance.
A breast lift can be performed with or without a saline breast implant or a silicone breast implant if one desires additional volume to enhance the size and shape. Many different techniques can be used to perform a breast lift. If one only has a slightly droopy or ptotic breast, a breast implant may be all that one needs to give them a much fuller, perkier look. However, if one has more of a sagging breast, then more incisions and thus scars will be required. A breast lift may rarely require only a “crescent” shaped approach on the top of the areola. This technique is infrequently used by Dr. Grover. Many times one may only require incisions and scars around the entire areola (circumareolar approach) or may require incisions and scars like the shape of a “lollipop” with a “vertical technique”. In some cases, if one has excessive loose skin, an “anchor scar” approach may be required. Both the “vertical” and the “anchor scar” technique allow for more reshaping on one’s breast. The size of the areola will be reduced with this procedure.

A facelift (technically known as a rhytidectomy) can reverse the signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift is rejuvenation surgery that now goes beyond just tightening skin. A modern facelift usually extends below the skin to address the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) by repositioning underlying facial muscles as well as reducing excess skin. A facelift may be performed by itself to address the lower third of the face and neck or it can be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as a endoscopic brow lift, eyelid surgery, mid face surgery, ear reshaping, or nose reshaping.
Gone are the expressionless, wind-tunneled looks of the past. Today, surgeons strive to give a natural, rejuvenated look with the least telltale signs of surgery as possible. Today, many facelift options are appealing to many men and women of various ages and can be tailored to individual needs. Today, patients are presenting much younger in life, in their early 40s for a facelift, perhaps a short scar facelift, compared to patients in the past, in order to save them from a more drastic overhaul in their 50s and 60s.
