Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammaplasty)

Large, pendulous breasts can cause women to suffer from back, neck and shoulder problems. Many women may also become very self-conscious of the size of their breasts and may effect self esteem. If either or both of these scenarios apply to you, then breast reduction surgery may be right for you.
Breast reduction creates a smaller, lighter and firmer breast by removing skin, fat and glandular tissue. This creates a breast that is better shaped and proportionate to a woman’s body.
Breast reduction is a surgical technique that will reduce the size and weight of one’s breasts as well as reshape and lift one’s breasts. Breast reduction surgery is either preformed unilaterally (one breast) or bilaterally (on both breasts). Fat, glandular tissue, and skin are removed with this technique and the size of the areola is reduced.
Many techniques also exist when performing a breast reduction. Dr. Grover utilizes either a “lollipop” (vertical) or an “anchor” (inverted “T”) technique to perform a breast reduction.
