Many patients from the Laguna Beach/Laguna Niguel areas contact us in reference to many different procedures. I figured today I would cover information about a very common procedure, Abdominoplasty, also known as tummy tuck.
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Quite often all the exercise and dieting in the world cannot get rid of the tummy pouch that results from a lifetime of weight fluctuations or pregnancy. The body changes that a woman experiences to her mid-section with one pregnancy, much less multiple pregnancies, can cause a lot of damage such as sagging skin, stretch marks, and even muscle separation (rectus diastasis) in the abdominal area. A tummy tuck or abdominoplasty will correct this. However, a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is not only for postpartum women or after childbirth. The procedure can improve the appearance of excess abdominal fat, skin and tissue in any healthy adult.
Abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck is a common surgical procedure performed on women following childbirth in order to contour and reshape the abdomen and flanks by contouring excessive fat, removing excess skin that may have striae or stretch marks and by tightening loose abdominal muscles.

Large, pendulous breasts can cause women to suffer from back, neck and shoulder problems. Many women may also become very self-conscious of the size of their breasts and may effect self esteem. If either or both of these scenarios apply to you, then breast reduction surgery may be right for you.
Breast reduction creates a smaller, lighter and firmer breast by removing skin, fat and glandular tissue. This creates a breast that is better shaped and proportionate to a woman’s body.
Breast reduction is a surgical technique that will reduce the size and weight of one’s breasts as well as reshape and lift one’s breasts. Breast reduction surgery is either preformed unilaterally (one breast) or bilaterally (on both breasts). Fat, glandular tissue, and skin are removed with this technique and the size of the areola is reduced.
Many techniques also exist when performing a breast reduction. Dr. Grover utilizes either a “lollipop” (vertical) or an “anchor” (inverted “T”) technique to perform a breast reduction.

Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty)
Breast augmentation or breast enhancement is a surgical technique to enhance breast size and shape with either a saline breast implant or a silicone gel breast implant. The most common reasons for electing breast augmentation surgery is to increase fullness and projection of the breast or to improve symmetry of the breasts.
According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, breast augmentation is one of the most common procedures performed by women in the United States.
