Choosing the Best Incision to Insert Breast Implants

The truth is, the best incision location for breast implants depends on one’s body shape and anatomical proportions. There are several choices:

Periareaolar (nipple): the incision is made just beyond the areola, which is the darker area of skin surrounding the nipple.
Inframammary (within the breast fold): the incision is made in the inframammary fold, commonly known as ‘the crease’.
Transaxillary (armpit): the incision site is in the area of the armpit, within the natural “folds” of skin found naturally in the armpit.
