Nose surgery or Rhinoplasty is one of the most popular procedures done in the United States; because of the dramatic results it can have not only on a person’s appearance but also on his or her self-esteem. Rhinoplasty at The Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery is used to create a more attractive appearance. Dr Grover may remove or resculpt nasal tissues in order to reduce the size of the nose or create a more pleasing shape. Results will vary from patient to patient and will depend upon what concerns are being addressed with the rhinoplasty. Dr Grover is board-certified plastic surgeon with a high standard of excellence, with surgery he can:

  • Balance the proportion of the nose with other facial features
  • Diminish an overly wide or large nose
  • Reduce a nose with too large an arch
  • Correct a crooked or elongated nose tip.
  • Repair the nasal passages to correct breathing problems

The Procedure

A rhinoplasty with Dr. Grover usually lasts approximately 3 hours and may be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the scope of the surgery. Gr. Grover prefers an “open” technique when performing surgery on the nose because it allows him better visualization of the surgical field. With the open technique the incision is placed in between the nostrils and provides maximum visibility and control. For Dr. Grover the goal of surgery is always to give his patients the best possible outcome and he feels the open technique give him this advantage.

After Care

At The Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery we make it a priority to support you during your recovery. Dr. Grover wants you to feel informed and empowered about your after care. It’s important to rest and take things slow after surgery.

Be prepared that after surgery a splint, bandages, and/or gauze maybe utilized to speed the healing process and to minimize movement of the nose. Swelling may persist for 2-3 weeks, with at least a week needed before a return to work or normal activity. Post surgery discomfort is usually not severe but may be experienced early in the healing process; Dr. Grover will prescribe pain medication to mange any discomfort. The nose must be protected with no strenuous activity for at least 3 weeks. Smoking is not permitted in the weeks after your surgery and sun exposure must be limited for a year.
