Dr. Grover Eyelid Surgery

December 8th, 2009

As a central part of the face, and an essential aspect of communication, ones eyes should be treated with the utmost care and attention. Also known as belpharoplasty, eyelid surgery is comprised of incision made where the natural arch and crease of your eye will be. Through this incision, skin, muscle and fat may be removed to create a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. Dr. Grover and his skilled team are available to answer any questions you have about the surgery in hopes of making you more comfortable and content with your body.

What Is A Nipple Reduction

November 2nd, 2009

Nipple size is something that can be a cause of great conflict for people. As the center of male and female breasts, nipples are the point of much attention. Long or oversized nipples can be a great source of embarrassment for men and women. A Nipple Reduction is a surgical procedure developed to improve the appearance of the nipple and chest/breast. Nipple reductions are requested by both women and men. Many people confuse the areola (the darker pigmented skin around the nipple) with the nipple (the projected part of the breast). This procedure is designed to reshape or reduce the size of just the nipple although it can also be combined with an Areola Reduction. Because this procedure is quick and simple with almost immediate results and minimal risk, and can be performed in conjunction with other procedures, such as a Breast Augmentation or a Breast Lift, it is increasingly being requested by patients. Although a Nipple Reduction is a minor procedure, it greatly increases one’s confidence and self-esteem by beautifying the chest/breast.

Ask Doctor Grover – Newport Beach Botox and Dermal Fillers

Botox is wonderful for minimizing dynamic wrinkles that occur with muscle contraction.  If you don’t have the wrinkles while at rest and not contracting any muscles, then it likely will work well.  There are instances when someone needs both Botox and a dermal filler, especially in the glabellar area between the eyebrows (the ’11′ sign) when these have become deep grooves.

Ask Doctor Grover – Labiaplasty vs. Vaginal Rejuvenation:  What’s the difference?

Labiaplasty refers to modifying or changing the labia (lips).  Labiaplasty may refer to modification of the labia minora (inner lips) or labia majora (outer lips).  It is more common for patients to request modification of the labia minora.  Vaginal rejuvenation usually refers to modifying the vagina or reducing the size or tightening the vaginal opening.

How long is the recovery time for labiaplasty?

  • One should avoid intercourse for 6-8 weeks following labiaplasty or reduction of the labia minor/inner lips.
  • Most swelling will subside in 3-4 weeks.
  • Most sutures will be present for the first 6-8 weeks.
  • Discomfort is usually minimal for the first week.

Find Board Certified Plastic Surgeons

There are many types of surgeons or physicians performing cosmetic surgery procedures today.  One very helpful resource is checking on Surgery.org which is the website for The Aesthetic Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.  ASAPS members are all board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgeons or The Royal College of Surgeons and are members of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons.  Besides these societies, you can check with your state’s medical board as well as looking at each individual surgeon’s personal website.  Good luck.

Newport Beach – Beverly Hills Breast Augmentation Surgery Cost

For more information, contact Orange County Plastic Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Grover.

Be careful basing your decisions primarily on cost. You will find many surgeons or physicians who offer breast augmentation procedures. You mention that you are seeking a great surgeon.  I would start with www.surgery.org, the website for The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.  These are all board certified plastic surgeons.

The price you mention is extremely low. Visit a few board certified plastic surgeons to get a better feel for the situation and the costs. You can expect to pay anywhere between $5K and $10K for saline augmentation in Newport Beach or Beverly Hills.

Beverly Hills Rhinoplasty Under $5,000?

The cost of any cosmetic procedure will vary from surgeon to surgeon based upon one’s experience, training, background, board-certification, business strategy, etc.  You should not let the cost of the procedure dictate whether you have the procedure or not. Of course, you should not expect to pay an unreasonable amount of money for the procedure, but remember there are other costs other than just the surgeon’s fee. You will also need to pay the facility fee for the operating room and the anesthesia fee. This fee can vary depending on whether you use an anesthesiologist or a nurse anesthetist or just have your procedure done without an anesthesia care provider.

I prefer to perform my procedures in a fully accredited facility with a board-certified anesthesiologist who has much experience with cosmetic surgery patients.  Good luck.

Ask Doctor Grover – Can Multiple Cosmetic Procedures Be Performed at One Time?

Multiple cosmetic procedures can be performed often depending on which procedures are to be combined and the overall health of the patient.  Many factors need to be considered.  Rhinoplasty is often combined with other facial procedures as a chin augmentation or even with some body procedures such as breast augmentation.

Orange County Tummy Tuck Procedure – Permanent and Absorbable Sutures

Both permanent and absorbable sutures are used in most abdominoplasty procedures.  Permanent (but not visible) sutures are often used to tighten the muscles.  It is variable what type of suture is used on the skin.  If permanent sutures are used on the skin they are usually removed by one week.
